Visit of Minister of State for External Affairs Shri V. Muraleedharan to Kenya

          Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri V. Muraleedharan was on an official visit to Kenya on13September 2022.

2.During the visit, MoS attended the swearing-in ceremony of President elect Dr. William Samoei Ruto as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya and handed over the congratulatory message of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. MoS also attended the official luncheon at the state house and had interactions with officials and the political leadership of Kenya. MoS noted that India-Kenya relationship is poised to grow stronger and deeper in the coming years.

3.During his visit, MoS was also welcomedby the Indian community in an event that was attended by over 300 members of diaspora. Leaders of Indian community and cultural organizations along with captains of industry were present for the event. MoS while addressing the invitees lauded the success achieved by them in Kenya and informed them about the progress made by India in the domains of technology, education, science, economy, etc. MoS also spoke about the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and Vishwa Hindi Diwas and invited them to participate in these events.

4.The visit by MoS underscores the importance that India attaches to its relations with Kenya. The visit provided an opportunity to interact with the leadership of Kenya and build upon the existing friendly and cordial relations that exist between the two countries.
