SEWA Portal: Miscellaneous Consular Services
General Information
- Please Sign up and create your account using the above web-link. Activation of your account will be done by using OTP received on your registered email ID. Once your account is activated, please login to your account and apply for the required miscellaneous consular service. Users can avail of multiple services with the same account. Users may follow each step and fulfill the requirements of the online application process including uploading the documents and submitting the same on the portal.
- On successful submission of the application, a provisional acknowledgment receipt will be generated which the applicant can print after login to his/her account. Applicants are advised to take a printout of a copy of the acknowledgment receipt of the online submitted application for submission to the High Commission.
- After scrutiny of the documents, the applicant will receive a confirmation message regarding the submission of the physical application and payment of fees. It can be seen in the dashboard of his/her account. Applicants are required to submit all the documents (uploaded online) in original and their copies to High Commission.
- Payment of the fee is to be made at the High Commission through Mpesa/card or through cash at Bank of India, Kenyatta avenue

SEWA Portal : The detailed procedure for availing of miscellaneous consular services which are currently being accepted in this High Commission is placed below. It is requested that to avoid any hardship to avail miscellaneous consular services, kindly visit High Commission only after you have applied online for the required miscellaneous consular service and High Commission has verified & approved your filled-in application. The necessary checks/steps to keep in mind for availing online consular services are given below:
Step1:Visit this websitehttps://indianconsularservices.mea.gov.in/consularServices/ and apply for services and upload the required documents (Kindly see below mentioned guidelines about the requirement of the document) then submit it online on the portal. (Please do not visit High Commission until your application is verified and approved by High Commission through online mode).
Step 2: If all documents are okay, High Commission will verify the application and applicant will receive notification in this regard. (go to Step 4)
Step 3: If there is any objection while verification, the same will be intimated to applicant and applicant needs to re-submit the application after uploading the required documents. High Commission will again verify the application and intimate applicant about the status. If verification is okay, go to step 4.
Step 4: Book an appointment
Step 5: Visit High Commission with printed application along with one set of copies of all required documents. Kindly carry all original documents for verification purpose along with one set of photocopies. Make the payment at the High Commission of India
Step 6: If all documents are okay, High Commission will process the application and applicant will receive an email notification in this regard stating that ‘Your request for consular service/s have been accepted with Application Id’
Step 7: Continue tracking the application online and once it shows Dispatched, you may visit the High Commission of India on any working day between 2:30-3:30 pm to collect the document.
Guidelines for Miscellaneous Consular Services Documents Requirement
- 1)ATTESTATION:
For this Mission to attest documents (educational, birth, death etc.) issued in India, they first need to be apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs of India which is done by the Attestation Section of the Consular, Passport & Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. (For details regarding attestation of documents, please log on to https://www.mea.gov.in/apostille-menu.htm ).
All the documents issued in Kenya by Kenyan authorities including all public institutions, schools, colleges, banks, companies, private organizations etc. need to be first attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Kenya, before they can be attested by this Mission.

- Work Permit- Please upload valid work permit letter or Work permit card

Please be informed that at the time of submission:
- Applicant should come in person. For individuals who are not in the country, they may send someone to submit the documents on their behalf by giving them a power of attorney signed by the Indian Mission in the country of residence
All the documents to be uploaded on the eSewa portal must of size less than 200 KB and in required format
- 2)DRIVING LICENSE ATTESTATION (Driving License Confirmation Letter)
Application for a Kenyan Driving License may require the authenticity of their Indian Driving license to be certified by the High Commission.
Documents required:
- Applicant’s passport - Please upload first and last page of passport
- Valid Visa Status- Please upload Visa Stamp page of passport
- Work Permit- Please upload valid work permit letter or Work permit card
- Indian driving license- Please upload front and back of Indian driving license
- The applicant is required to verify the Driving License on the Parivahan website of Govt of India (https://parivahan.gov.in/) or the Ministry of roads, transport & High ways India and carry a printout.
In case it does not reflect in the Parivahan website, the applicant has to approach the concerned RTO and get the Driving License updated to the new series. Once done, they can visit the Parivahan website and take a printout of the Driving License.

Note: High Commission can issue Driving License Confirmation letter only such cases where Indian driving license is verifiable through the centralized government website
- 3) ATTESTATION OF AFFIDAVITS:
The applicant is required to select the correct type of affidavit on the e-sewa platform i.e General affidavit, Affidavit related to property matters etc.
Documents required:
- Applicant passport- Please upload first and last page of passport
- Valid visa status- Please upload Visa Stamp/Visa Sticker page of passport
- Work Permit- Please upload valid work permit letter or Work permit card
- Filled in Miscellaneous form
- Two photographs
- Affidavit for attestation. For affidavits related to passport renewal, they may be downloaded from the forms/affidavits section
All the documents to be uploaded on the eSewa portal must of size less than 200 KB and in required format
- 4)ATTESTATION OF POWER OF ATTORNEY:
For attestation related to Power of Attorney, the applicant shall appear in person for submitting his/her application. In case of Joint Power of Attorney, all the deponents shall present themselves before the consular officer of this Mission. If there is a provision for signature by witnesses in the Power of Attorney, the witnesses need to appear in person along with their ID cards/Passport
The applicant is required to select the correct Power of attorney on the e-sewa platform i.e General POA, Commercial POA etc

- The Executant has to affix a photograph and signature in front of the Consular Officer in the Power of Attorney;

Note: High Commission attests only the photograph and signature of the executant, the Embassy does not take any responsibility whatsoever for the contents of the Power of Attorney.

- 5)ATTESTATION OF AFFIDAVIT/CONSENT LETTER FOR CHILD PASSPORT TO BE ISSUED IN INDIA (Annexure-D):
For attestation of the affidavit for a child passport to be issued in India (Annexure -D), the following documents are required:
- The Executant has to sign the duly filled Affidavit (Annexure -D)/ Consent letter in front of the Consular Officer at High Commission;
- Applicant passport- Please upload first and last page of passport
- Valid visa status- Please upload Visa Stamp/Visa Sticker page of passport
- Residence permit/ work permit- Please upload valid work permit letter or Work permit card
- Copy of Birth certificate of the child
- Copy of Marriage certificate
- Mother’s passport copy
- In case of renewal of passport, furnish a copy of the child's current passport

Note: High Commission attests only the signature of the executant, the High Commission does not take any responsibility whatsoever for the contents of the Affidavit (Annexure -D)/consent letter.
- 6)BIRTH CERTIFICATE- CHILD (REGISTRATION OF BIRTH):
All Indian nationals who are residents in Kenya are required to register the birth of their minor child at the High Commission, under section 4(1) of the Citizenship Act, 1955, within one year from the Date of Birth.

Note: Kindly note that for passport of a new born child, birth registration is mandatory. Passport application will be accepted only after Birth Registration
7) NRI CERTIFICATE
The applicant should have stayed out of India for period of more than 182 days during the previous Financial Year to be eligible to apply for this service

8) CERTIFICATE OF OCI STATUS

9) LIFE CERTIFICATE
Applicant is required to be physically present to avail this service.

10) POLICE CLEARANCE (Foreign Nationals)
Documents required:
- Applicant passport- Please upload first and last page of passport
- Valid visa status- Please upload Visa Stamp/Visa Sticker page of passport
- Miscellaneous form
- 2 photographs
- Police clearance certificate form
- Passport used to travel to India,
- Copy of the Indian Visa during the period mentioned in the Police Clearance Certificate Application Form
- Entry and exit stamp to India.
11)BACHELORHOOD/SINGLE-STATUS CERTIFICATE/NO IMPEDIMENT CERTIFICATE
Documents required:

- Miscellaneous form

- Bachelorhood/single status Certificate
(A Certificate of Bachelorhood/ Single-Status can be issued by the area Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) or District Magistrate or Court authorities (The area is to be determined as per the address mentioned in the applicant's passport). This certificate is required to be counter-attested by the Home Department of the State concerned. Thereafter, it is attested by the Attestation Section of the Consular, Passport & Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. (For details regarding attestation of documents, please log on to http://mea.gov.in/apostille.htm ). case, for some reason, the applicant is unable to apply for this certificate personally, he can authorise an attorney to get the work done on his behalf, if this is acceptable to the concerned authorities in the State concerned. (Kindly note that issuance of this kind of certificate falls within the jurisdiction of the authorities of the concerned State Government/ Union Territory of India. Only the counter-attestation of the certificate is done by the Ministry of External Affairs.)
12) LETTER BASED ON PASSPORT DETAILS

Applicants will be issued NRI certificate as per Embassy
format only. Applicants must provide a proof that a
certificate is required for admission in Indian
University under NRI Quota.

does not hold Indian Passport/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card/PIO
Card, the affidavit/document to be attested needs to be first attested
by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Kenya. Kindly
