Electronic Overseas Citizen of India Card (e-OCI Card)
Government of India has introduced a fully digital e-OCI system w.e.f July 8, 2026. Under this system, all new OCI applicants will receive a secure digital e-OCI Card instead of a physical paper booklet. OCI cardholders are no longer required to obtain a new physical OCI booklet upon turning 20 or 50 years of age, or after updating their personal particulars.
Salient features of e-OCI Crad
- Once you have successfully generated and downloaded your digital e-OCI Card to your mobile device, you are no longer required to carry the physical booklet while traveling
- Existing physical OCI booklets remain fully valid.
- Cardholders are strongly encouraged to generate, download, and store their digital e-OCI Card on a mobile device.
Procedure to download e-OCI Card
- Login into your OCI Account
- Go to “”Dashboard”” and select e-OCI Card
- Request EOCI then “Download e-OCI”
