OCI MISCELLANEOUS

Please read the below advise carefully to ensure correct compilation of the documents required for your application.

To avail Miscellaneous Service, you must be an existing OCI Card Holder.

Important note for all OCI Renewal Applicants (Mandatory): Applicants are required to submit the originals along with a set of photocopies of the originals, both sets of documents need to be submitted at the counter. Originals will be returned once the High Commission of India is satisfied with the documents provided. All photocopies need to be self-attested.

Photograph to be affixed on the application should be a square shape of size not less than 51*51mm (with 80% coverage of face). It should have plain light color background without the border with front view of person's head and shoulders showing the full face in middle of the photograph. It should not be stapled and not have any signature. The same photograph should be uploaded online together with a clear signature during online application. For minors, their thumb impression should be uploaded.

 

OCI renewal is done only once after the completion of the age of 20years and acquiring a new passport.

All applicants for this service are required to visit the High Commission in person. Third party submissions are not allowed. Applications can only be submitted with prior appointment https://hcinairobi.gov.in/getappointment

  1. a) Complete/Partial name change

  1. b) Change of name after marriage or divorce

  1. Lost/Damaged OCI

  1. Conversion of  PIO TO OCI
  • As per the new guidelines, PIO-OCI conversion is no longer acceptable. Applicants holding PIO cards need to make a fresh OCI application, as per extant guidelines.
  1. Change of nationality

  1. Cancellation of OCI card

OCI card can be cancelled due to death or divorce (In case of foreign spouse applicants)

The applicant is required to submit the original death certificate or Divorce decree and the original OCI card to the Mission.

 Online OCI updation

  • In case the existing OCI card holder wishes to update the latest information about his latest passport, Change in address/Occupation/Contact details, the OCI card holder can select the options as given below and upload the latest photograph and requisite documents.
  • Please be informed that the service for updation of passport details uploaded by an OCI cardholder within three months of issue of his/her new passport will continue to be provided free of charge.
  • An amount of Ksh. 3230 equivalent to USD 25 will be charged with immediate effect for the online updation of passport details by an OCI Card holder where the online application has been submitted after three months from the date of issuance of the OCI card holder’s new passport
  1. a) Documents required for updation of passport details
  • Duly Filled Online form under the Gratis option (Updation of passport details) https://ociservices.gov.in
  • Enter correct details as per the current passport
  • Upload a clear scan of current Passport
  • Upload a current high resolution 2*2 Photograph with a light background
  • Upload a clear scan of the current signature of the applicant
  •    For applicants who applied for OCI on the basis of their spouse, they are required to submit a joint affidavit, spouse current passport and OCI card.
  1. b) Documents required for change of address
  • Duly Filled Online form under the Gratis option (Updation of address details) https://ociservices.gov.in
  • Enter correct details as per the current address
  • Upload a clear scan of the address proof

To note

  • These details shall be updated into the OCI system records and an acknowledgment shall be shared with OCI card holder on his/her registered email ID.
  • Updation of Passport details takes 6-8 weeks subject to clearance. Applicants can continue travelling with their OCI card after updation. No new OCI is issued to applicants.
