During his visit to Eldoret County, High Commissioner visited Rivatex East Africa Ltd., the largest fully integrated textile manufacturing company in East Africa. Rivatex has been recently fully refurbished largely with modern made in India machinery through a Government of India concessional Line of Credit. The project is a symbol of development cooperation between India and Kenya. The visit reaffirmed the commitment of India to promoting industrial development, value addition and employment generation in Kenya




High Commissioner visited Simba cement plant of Indian-origin Devki group.
The cement manufacturing capacity of Devki group is second-largest in Africa. The group is contributing to industrialization, value addition and employment generation in Kenya. Indian-origin businesses continue to play an important role in Kenya’s economic development and in strengthening India-Kenya commercial ties




The Indian diaspora led by Eldoret chapter of Hindu Council of Kenya welcomed the High Commissioner Dr Adarsh Swaika at the Sikh Union Club. High Commissioner conveyed the importance and priority attached by Government of India to its diaspora abroad, the measures being taken to further deepen the linkages and encouraged them to be a stakeholder in India’s journey for Viksit Bharat 2047. High Commissioner hailed their contributions for the social-economic development of the country and for being a living bridge between India and Kenya







High Commission, in association with India-Kenya Chamber of Commerce, organized a business event in Eldoret to promote trade and investments between India and Kenya. High Commissioner highlighted the strong economic partnership between India and Kenya and untapped potential for further growth. The Indian-Kenyan industry captains of Eldoret apprised the High Commissioner of their business linkages with Indian companies and suggested steps that could further strengthen bilateral trade. The meeting was joined by representatives of County government and KNCCI as well as Chairman of IKCC. Head of EXIM Bank Regional office in Nairobi and representatives of Bank of India and Bank of Baroda showcased their products for trade facilitation with India




High Commissioner paid a visit to Kechei Camp of renowned half-marathon runner Joan Chelimo, that provides training to runners, including from India. He discussed possible opportunities for institutionalized training of Indian athletes in Iten. High Commissioner also met Agnes Ngetich, world record-holder of women 10 km run. He wished her continued success in upcoming championships
