The High Commission of India in Nairobi is pleased to inform that the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India has declared 150 scholarship slots for under graduate courses (except medicine and related courses) under Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC). The scheme is being implemented by Education Consultants India Limited (EdCIL), a government of India entity. SPDC is awarded only to the following four categories:-
SPDC provide up to a maximum of USD4000 per annum which covers tuition fee, admission fee and post admission services except food charges. The scheme is applicable to fresh 1st year students.
Income criteria: Income criteria is applicable to all the four categories of candidates. The total monthly income of the parent(s) of the candidate should not exceed an amount equivalent to US Dollars Five thousand (US$5000). Self-attested salary certificate from employer must be provided.
Only candidates securing admission in UG courses in any of the following institutions are eligible to apply for SPDC:-
Interested and eligible candidates in Kenya are requested to check detailed application guidelines and submit applications online on SPDC portal at https://spdcindia.gov.in. All required documents must be uploaded on this portal during application. Only online application forms will be accepted.
The last date for submission of duly filled application form online on SPDC portal is 30th November 2021.
